An Eternal Perspective

"We only have a limited time here on earth. What a difference it would make if we think of life that way and determine to use our time WELL."

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. What is my purpose while on this earth and what am I doing with what God has given me? (time, gifts, relationships, money, etc.)
My thoughts have concluded that....
I WASTE A LOT OF MY TIME DOING THINGS THAT HAVE NO ETERNAL VALUE!
How sad...
Ephesians 2:10, says "For we are God's WORKMANSHIP (how amazing!), created in Christ to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Each one of is so unique and each one of us also has a specific PURPOSE to fulfill.

"The Master gives us, His SERVANTS, resources to steward while He is gone. Then He comes back to  judge us on how well we used them while he was away. And if we were faithful, He gives us more" - (Feldhahn, Shaunti) (Matthew 25- parable of the talents)
Each one of us will be held accountable.

Jay and I have been fasting from TV all week, and it has utterly been nothing but a BLESSING! There is so much time in the day to do things that are meaningful and important- I think I might do this more often :) It's helped me to realize that there are things that we do here on earth that have eternal value and honestly, there are things that we do that will literally fade away. It's meaningless. Everything we do will be tested and all that will remain is what God values in light of Eternity. The rest will burn away (2 Cor. 5:10, 1 Cor. 3:12-15).

I want my mind and heart to be filled with an eternal mindset that this place is not my home!
So the challenge is: what are we going to do with what God has blessed us with while we are here?!
I don't know about you, but I DON'T WANT TO WASTE MY LIFE ON MYSELF!
I WANT TO WASTE MY LIFE FOR CHRIST AND CHRIST ALONE!
Ask yourself, "Does this have Eternal value?
Am I working to advance God's Kingdom here on Earth?"

I pray that we would eagerly await our Father's arrival knowing deep down that we are doing the best job we can with what He's given us.

"The job of a steward is to advance the purpose of the Master-to be successful from the Master's perspective, not necessarily from a servants perspective."

Because our God is that GREAT and He deserves nothing less than our BEST, our ALL, and our EVERYTHING!
