I've been listening to John Piper sermons all morning and was incredibly challenged, to say the least. Soak up some of this truth and goodness. I pray it is encouraging, comforting, and convicting as it was for me.
"The deepest root of womanhood is HOPE in God" A Christian woman does NOT put her hope in her looks or her relationships, but she is grounded in her Father in Heaven.
Prob 31:25 "She is clothed in STRENGTH and DIGNITY and she can laugh at days to come."
I want to get to that place. Everything that's coming at me...I laugh at it because I know that my God is in control. A woman of God doesn't cringe or run and she is NOT naive about what it coming.
Holy women hope in a SOVEREIGN and GRACIOUS God who promises to help whenever needed. She knows her Bible and her God who promises to be with her no matter what. This is where her strength comes from!
This HOPE in God yields FEARLESSNESS.
1 Peter 3:6b. "And you are Sarah's children if you do good and
do not fear anything that is frightening.
There is plenty of fear living in this world. Peter says, God's daughters are NOT afraid. God is sovereign over these frightening things and you rest in
HIM and this drives out your fear.
Women of God are not naive about whats coming ahead and they are prepared for hard times.
1 Peter 3:14
"But even if you suffer for righteousness sake you will be blessed. 'Do not fear what they fear, and do not be frightened.'"
1 Peter 4:19
"Let those who suffer trust their souls to a faithful God while doing good."
As daughters of the King, we are held to high standards. We need to place our HOPE in God and be confident and FEARLESS because we know that we are in the hands of a sovereign, powerful, and almighty Father!
