Randomness and a few little updates

Jonelle is officially 22 months- that means only 2 more months until she is 2!!! Where did the time go?!? She is an absolute joy and the best gift we could have asked for. She is spunky, fun-loving, sweet, and just so precious. She is my little helper and is curious and exploring everything. Can't get enough of her! We are loving being the "Thompson Trio" and are looking forward to the "teachable-two" stage (as my mom would say) There will be no terrible-twos in my house! We are praying for wisdom on knowing how to parent this little one. I just read in a devotion today that so often we look to certain recommended "formulas" to raise our children, but reality is, each child is unique and special. What works for one family might not work for another. A quote that stood out to me says, "We weren't made to be robotic followers of this world's formulas. We were made to be transformed into the unique person God appointed to fulfill the assignments set before us (parenting Jonelle in my case). It's abut being a simple woman who humbly acknowledges how much she doesn't know about life and readily admits how much she needs Jesus in every area" (-Lysa TerKeurst). I pray that this would be true of my life.

The Christmas season has also arrived in the Thompson household! We started putting up
decorations, but it honestly feels so strange because it is still HOT outside! It's going to take me awhile to get used to this "Christmas in July" feeling....

Christmas time also means that we have almost completed our first semester of classes at Trinity!! WOo HOoo!  Time flies by! School is getting harder and harder as I get into more psychology classes, but I am so fascinated and interested in EVERYTHING! Hours a day are spent on homework-either during Jonelle's nap or after she is in bed. I love being able to go through school with my hubby. We go on study dates to Borders and stay up late together. It helps so much having someone to keep me motivated and focused! God is so good and is slowly revealing his heart and plan for our family. Right now we are in a season of schooling, and we are enjoying every part of it. Pray that we will manage our time well, continue to get good grades, and have the motivation to do year-round classes.

This is where I'm always camped out!
My partner for life!
That's about all for now! Mom and Josh are back in Chicago now :(   I'm waiting to get the pictures from Josh so I can post them all!! Another blog coming soon!
