I am realizing more and more that I have a heart and passion for speaking TRUTH (God's truth), especially to teens and women. The more I seek the Lord and gain wisdom on how to live a life pleasing to Him, the more I have to SHARE with others!
We are called to be Ambassadors of Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20). We are to represent Him in everything we do. God's promises and guidelines for his daughters are way too precious to keep to myself.
This is all so ironic to me because for those of you who know me, I have not always been the most open and expressive person. The more I grow up and mature, the more open and expressive I get, and I know that my Father knows what He is doing! :) Who knows what He has for me in the future- I'm excited to find out though!
Speaking truth and standing up for what I believe in is great, but definitely not easy! This is a tough lesson that J and I are learning a lot lately. We have been put in situations and have come across conversations where we knew we had to speak truth to someone, even when it could cost us a friendship or opportunity. We know that we are to be accountable to God 1st and foremost above man. Tough love is hard to give and hard to receive, but sometimes it is so necessary. We're thankful that God has our backs and that He is always there to guide and restore and put the pieces back together. And God honors that.
John 8:32 says, Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you FREE." My prayer is that we would learn to speak the truth in LOVE and trust God with the rest!
Jaakan and I talk a lot about how there is such a seriousness to God's Word. We both feel like that "seriousness" has been lost a little bit in our generation. The Lord is for real about what He expects, and commands, and desires. These are not things to compromise on or change to fit our lifestyle. As a couple, we are committed to giving God our ALL and giving up that desire to "fit in" all the time. We both struggle with people-pleasing and we know that that is one of the first things that needs to go.
Our prayer is that the Lord would use us to always stand up and speak HIS truth and that we would allow God's truth to continually change our hearts.
